GRD_2000_SP10 Final Logopesto
A beautiful mess.
Above: Michelle’s final poster (24×36 digital file). Final submissions are in and are uploaded to Geotypografika Flickr here. The Logopesto Poster Redux from this year’s intro to graphic design grupetto did not disappoint. The final push was heralded by Michelle’s outstanding efforts, and she inspired her classmates to respond with their own, beautiful messes.
Above: Michelle with her final, unfolded poster. Below, some sample spreads from the ‘narrative’ element of this problem below, plus a giant penis. I am not kidding. Read on.
Above: Michelle’s project in spread format, cover to back-cover.
Above: Liz’s ode to cock rock. Oddly, a favorite of the critiques.
Above: dL’s narrative was especially popular for it’s intricate density.
Above: AJ’s splendid washing machine.
Above: AJ’s poster at scale. A sophisticated solution to the problem of including ALL sketches, this poster rewards you for approaching it.
Above: A spread from Patrick’s effort.
Above: Yes, it really was a penis.
Above: George’s awkward yet compelling sense of beauty wins again.
Above: A spread from Ariel’s hard work.
Above: Carl’s elephant was hand-drawn, another favorite of the crits.
Above: Ariel experiemented with incorporating her photographs.
Above: As usual, Dustin came up with multiple solutions, all delightfully gross. Here is just one background speckled with early sketches he made.
Above: Sara’s elaborate weaving of infinitely pleasing characters and stories.
Above: Didier brought the bling.
Above: Another spread from George.
Above: Thyra’s delightful breakthrough. Aesthetics, maschneticks, more density, Thyra! Keep adding more!
Above: One of Brian’s dynamic spreads. Students were asked to solve the narrative problem first, and allow that to influence/determine the final apparition.
Above: Paige takes the cake. Please see more, much more, Geotypografika Flickr here. Look for more updates from this grupetto soon, there is still the matter of an interesting recycled book project from earlier.
