El Milagro de Los 33
A long overdue update on a recent workshop with this semester’s GRD_3020 grupetto. We were delighted to welcome Luis Fitch in our class for two crititques based around our effort to create typographic celebrations of El Milagro de Los 33.
Working only with Spanish, our initial start was aided by research generously donated from Natalia, a fellow MCAD student from Chile who was also an honored guest at our first crit. Each student had been challenged to create two-color solutions with a minimum production limitation of ten pieces. The maximum size was 18″x24″, but each made their own decisions according to individual budgets. What resulted was a vibrant collection of cards, bulletins, and posters that we mailed to the organizers of the 4th Bienal de Chile as a gesture of good will and solidarity.
We hope these gifts will be well received and that new conversations between young designers will flourish. A thousand thanks to the MCAD students for their efforts, and I hope you enjoy this collection of their work. More process and final digital documents now available on Geotypografika Flickr.
