Above: Splash page for typo/graphic posters, a true labor of love by André Filipe, a Brazilian graphic designer with a big heart and a passion for typography. André has recently redesigned the site and it now features a full Flash exhibition mechanism that allows the designers to display their samples display with minimal interference.
The first version, also a delight at the time, premiered in November 2009 (when tÿpøgrafika was accepted), and quickly gathered steam. Recently featured in idsgn, Andre’s site has attracted over 380 designers from around the world.
Above: A new search feature allows easy access to the designers on display, in this case Createmake creator and Geotypografika friend Ragnar Freyr Pálsson from Iceland! Hup, Ragnar!
A perfect source of inspiration for practitioners and students alike, André himself describes the site as “a free online service focused on the design community that aspires to be a timeless source for studies, inspiration and promotion of good design through poster culture and cultivation of typography and pure forms of graphic design.”
typo/graphic posters is now complimented by a companion Flickr site, which allows contributions from our hero Jar Geerligs and more.
Above: From the splash page for André’s own site, a beautiful apparition which communicates his passion for exploring the possibilities of typographic expression. We can look forward to more from this inspired designer, but take some time with his current work and let’s be grateful for his efforts, typo/graphic posters is a pure example of a phrase Geotypografika readers will remember: Let go, and let type.
Um abraço, André, e obrigado!
