autismo / diversamente
Facebook poster competition.
Above: My entry for a Facebook poster contest sponsored by Sergio Olivotti of diversamente onlus, an Italian non-profit group. The Autism Poster Design Contest is an open group seeking to raise awareness of the issues surrounding autism and those it affects. (Submission deadline open through March 31, at 12PM CET.)
In first considering this theme, I was struck by one early symptom of autism in children, the obsessive stacking of objects. It occurred to me that the recent explosion of production and deployment of American Predator drones in attack roles, particularly in in Iraq, Afghanistan, and Pakistan, displayed similar tendencies.
I hope that an identification of such symptoms at the national level will lead to more awareness at a local level as well. Substitute images of automobiles and the same message might be achieved.
Below: Some process images. I cut these out of b&w laser prints from low-res web images. Here are a few from the scanner with some old blue trace, cut_drones_sky_net (somehow appropriate?).
