Jenny Tondera / Ballyvaughan Credit

Above: Signage on a gas pump in Ballyvaughan, Ireland.

Jenny Tondera writes: During a brief stop at the local gas station this weekend while visiting friends at the Burren College of Art, fellow MCAD student Zach Nash and I noticed this sign that aims to duplicate the logos of major credit card companies.

What I love best is that the actual credit card logos were not pulled from a Google image search, and nor were the names of the companies simply listed with text only. Rather, the signmaker took the time to reinterpret (however crudely) the Mastercard, American Express, and Visa logos through his/her own eyes.

he or she probably had the credit cards on the desk and didn’t have the requisite stolen copy of photoshop handy. instead, using “paint” or the equivalent to bust out some crude instantly recognizable symbolicz
