Icaro Doria is creating viruses out of national flags.
Dylan C. Lathrop writes: From the Brazilian Artists website comes the work of artist Icaro Doria. Doria has been creating these flags and sending them virally through chain emails. The flags re-appropriate the colors of the flags for statistical data in regards to that country.
According to Doria, the facts are researched through Amnesty International and the UN (he refers to the Spanish acronym, UNO). Definitely an interesting project. Especially intriguing to think about on this day, the day of this fine blog’s creator
Erik Brandt’s on cultural viruses, new streams of information and globalization.
